Giuseppe Vaccaro

In the years following the death of Giuseppe Vaccaro in 1970, his figure and work – elusive, difficult to fit into simplifying interpretational schemes – have been relegated to a sort of shadow zone. This volume published by Electa, therefore, offers the first complete survey of the work of this important architect, through essays by authoritative scholars interpreting various aspects of his output.
The projects and constructed works of Giuseppe Vaccaro are documented in images, most of which are originals from the period in question, from the Vaccaro archives.
The volume also contains an anthology of writings by Giuseppe Vaccaro, including hard-to-find articles from the period between the two world wars and the transcription of an unpublished sheet of notes from the postwar era, and texts on the architect by Enrico De Angeli, Raffaello Giolli, Gio Ponti, Luigi Moretti, Adalberto Libera, Umberto Cao, Robert Venturi, Franco Purini.
The book also features an illustrated biographical profile by Marco Mulazzani, a listing of the works and a specific bibliography, prepared for this publication by Carolina Vaccaro.
